The Balmoral Hotel is situated at 1 Princes Street, EH2 2EQ, in the heart of Edinburgh.
It first opens on 15th October 1902 as the North British Station Hotel and was described as one of the greatest railway Hotels.
In 2020, the Balmoral Hotel was named the first and only hotel in Scotland to receive the highest star award from the Forbes Travel Guide.
A huge refurbishment of 41 rooms was completed in March 2022.
The Hotel celebrated its 120th anniversary on the 15th of October.
The Balmoral offers beautiful suites with stylish furnishings and all the comfort possible. There are four Grand Suites which are named after Scotland: Braemar, Stirling, Dunrobin and Tay.
The classic rooms offer elegant Scottish charm and all the comfort a guest needs.
The Hotel has been awarded many times, and the year commencing 2022-2023, it was awarded the AA hotel of the year Scotland and the AA Hospitality award
The AA schemes are ways to support businesses that strive for high standards and give them a range of membership benefits. The accommodation schemes have been inspecting, recommending and setting standards hotels since 1912, when the star rating for hotels was introduced. They collaborate with VisitEngland, VisitScotland, VisitWales and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board.
All membership levels have their own criteria and benefits: full membership, which involves an overnight inspection testing all services; associate membership, which is a marketing-only option for hotels already rated by one of the tourist boards; Advertised with visit, which involves an overnight inspection including the use of services without star rating; Advertised without visit, which is a marketing-only without an inspection.
